Active ingredient: Clonazepam
Rivotril Clonazepam 2 mg is manufactured by Roche, and also sold under brand name Klonopin. used to prevent and treat seizures, panic disorder, and movement disorder akathisia. It is a tranquilizer that comes from the drug group as Diazepam, as they are both benzodiazepines. It is also an anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant that works by increasing the effects of GABA. This is a neurotransmitter that moderates the movement of nerve signals in the brain.
Rivotril Clonazepam 2 mg is also used to treat epilepsy, heat stroke, and other various syndromes. Clonazepam was approved by The Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This was back in 1975 under brand name Klonopin for French pharma company Roche. It is also manufactured by many other companies as generic clonazepam.
Clonazepam is to be taken orally, ideally with a glass of water. You will notice it beginning to have an effect within 1 hour after taking and lasts anywhere between 6 to 12 hours.
Possible side effects include:
- Altered walking
- Dizziness, (do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you).
- Impaired coordination
- Memory impairment
- Behaviour changes in those being treated for seizures.

Consult your doctor before even considering taking Roche Rivotril 2 mg Clonazepam. The addiction/habit-forming potential of this medicine is extremely high. Dose and duration should be on a doctors advice. Avoid alcohol as it may increase dizziness and drowsiness. Inform your doctor if pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Does Clonazepam cause weight gain?
Both weight gain and loss are a possibility when using Clonazepam. However, these are uncommon side effects. Consult a dietician for a diet plan to maintain your weight.
Can Clonazepam affect my memory?
It can, though there are very cases cases of Clonazepam causing memory-related problems. Meaning the patient may complain of partial or complete inability to recall the recent past.
Can Clonazepam be harmful if one exceeds the dose?
Well, it can. But only if more than the recommended doses of Clonazepam are taken, can cause sleepiness. Even changes in speech, abnormalities in eye movements, and confusion have known cases. Also comas may also occur but last only a few hours. Though, as a rule, an overdose of Clonazepam is not life threatening.
Can I take Clonazepam and zolpidem together?
Combining Clonazepam and zolpidem is not recommended. This is because it may have increased chances of side effects. If both must be used, Clonazepam should be reduced, to prevent side effects.
